Students graduating with honors are recognized by wearing honor cords at graduation. To be eligible for an honor cord a student must be enrolled within the school district prior to and continuously following the 10th day of the student's senior year. The following are the criteria for honor cords based on seven semesters:
Gold Cords (Summa Cum Laude) 3.75 - 4.00 GPA
Silver Cords (Magna Cum Laude) 3.50 - 3.74 GPA
White Cords (Cum Laude) 3.25 - 3.49 GPA
Beginning with the Class of 2016, GPA criteria for honor cords may change with the implementation of weighted grades.
College Preparatory Certificate
This certificate is currently awarded to student completing a rigorous course standard to prepare for college. Students completing the belo standard and maintain a B average in these classes will receive a certificate at the Awards Ceremony and will be acknowledged on the graduation program.
A seal with the designation “Honors” will be affixed to the formal diploma of students with outstanding high school grades. The Honors Diploma will be awarded to
